In Columbia, South Carolina, on April 13, 2026, the body of 31-year-old Ciara Howcott of Hopkins was discovered in the 2700 block of Howell Court, near Farrow Road. Initially deemed a suspicious death, the Columbia Police Department quickly upgraded the investigation to a homicide after it was determined she had died from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Howcott reportedly lived near the area where her body was found.
