In the quiet community of Summerville, South Carolina, a burst of violence on March 2, 2022, cut short the life of 15-year-old Malaki Trayvion Mazyck. The young man was one of two victims in a fatal shooting that transpired in the parking lot of the Sangaree branch of the Berkeley County Library. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and Mazyck was transported to the Brighton Park Emergency Room, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
