Scott Connor Maloney, aged 23, was found dead on October 25, 2021, in Farmington, MN. The tragic incident involved the deaths of his family members as well. Scott was discovered on the second level of the townhome, blocking entry into a bedroom, with a gunshot wound to the head. His father, Jack Maloney, aged 55, was found in the basement, also with a gunshot wound to the head.
His mother, Tracy Maloney, aged 53, was found on the kitchen floor with a yoga mat over her face and multiple head injuries consistent with blows from a hammer.
The suspect in this case is Blake Thomas Maloney, aged 26, who is Scott's brother. Blake was charged with three counts of second-degree murder. According to the criminal complaint, Blake admitted to killing his brother and father with a gun a couple of days before his mother came to the townhome. He confessed to killing his mother with a hammer because he did not want to use the gun anymore. Blake was arrested at the scene after he told the responding officer, 'I did something. I murdered them or something'.
Blake Maloney's next court appearance was scheduled for November 12, 2021. Bail was set at $2 million without conditions and $1.5 million with conditions. The investigation revealed that Blake did not believe his family members were actually his family. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to piece together the events leading up to the tragic deaths of the Maloney family members.
