In the early morning hours of August 20, 2022, the life of 27-year-old Trever Heyward Jr. was tragically cut short in a violent encounter on James Island, South Carolina. Responding to reports of gunfire at a bar on Grimball Road around 2 a.m., Charleston County Sheriff's deputies arrived to find Heyward on the ground with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
