On the evening of July 5, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., 44-year-old Brian C. Fokes was fatally shot at the Bridgeview Apartment complex in Charleston, South Carolina. Two other individuals, including his long-term partner, Pearl Samuels, and a friend's child, sustained injuries during the incident but have since been released from the hospital.
