In the early morning hours of a cold December day, the life of a young law enforcement officer was tragically cut short in what was described as a sudden and unprovoked ambush. Deputy Sheriff Christopher Richard Parsons, a 31-year-old male, was shot and killed on December 15, 2012, while on duty in Mineral Point, Missouri. He had been with the Washington County Sheriff's Office for only two months.
