On June 1, 2014, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call regarding a deceased individual in the Kingsway West neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The victim was identified as Laquwan J. A. Lewis, a 23-year-old African-American male known to friends and family by the nickname 'Buddah.'
