On the evening of June 22, 2014, a violent confrontation unfolded in Kansas City, Missouri, that claimed the life of 21-year-old Brandon Dean. Dean, a Black male, was walking near the intersection of 40th Street and Indiana Avenue when he encountered an individual with whom he had a previous dispute.
