Anthony Hempstead, a 26-year-old resident of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2014. He was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning in the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue. This incident marked the second homicide in Cape Girardeau within a span of two weeks and the second shooting in less than six hours.
