On the night of September 25, 2014, officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a scene in the northern section of the city following reports of gunfire. Just before 10:00 p.m., authorities discovered the lifeless body of 34-year-old Ali Goodin lying in the middle of the street. Upon examination, it was determined that Goodin had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, with injuries specifically noted to his head, chest, elbow, and buttocks.
