Salvador Ruiz Ramirez, a 48-year-old resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was found dead on the banks of the Black River on October 21, 2014. His death was the result of a violent crime that shocked the local community. Ramirez had been shot twice in the head, and his body was discovered after authorities responded to a report of a fire at his home. Upon investigation, it was revealed that his home had been burglarized and then set ablaze.
