In the early morning hours of February 14, 2015, a violent incident unfolded in the 4300 block of Minnesota Avenue in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of South St. Louis, Missouri. Just after midnight on Valentine's Day, police officers responded to calls reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Antoine Lamont Farrell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, marking a tragic start to the holiday weekend for the community.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting. Pierre Davis, a 35-year-old male, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. Authorities alleged that Davis was involved in the altercation that led to Farrell's death. Following his arrest, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged Davis with unlawful possession of a firearm and flourishing a weapon.
At the time of the initial court proceedings, Davis was ordered held on a $50,000 cash-only bond. While he faced immediate weapons charges, detectives indicated that a homicide charge was under advisement as they continued to review the evidence collected from the scene.
