In the summer of 2008, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Demond Taylor, a 34-year-old male from Saint-Louis, Missouri. On the evening of June 20th, Taylor, an off-duty police officer for St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, was driving his car. As he waited at a stoplight at the intersection of Page and Academy Avenues, he was suddenly ambushed.
