In the summer of 2015, the life of Orlando Bernard, a 28-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in a burst of violence on a St. Louis street. On the morning of Monday, June 29th, police were called to the 2200 block of Benton Street where they discovered Bernard inside a home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He had been shot in the torso, hands, and legs.
