The young Black woman was discovered by authorities sitting inside a vehicle on a residential block, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The discovery of
Cretter's body was closely linked in time and proximity to the deaths of two other young women found within the same area. Just hours after police located Cretter, the body of 23-year-old Laura Green was found under an interstate overpass nearby, also suffering from gunshot wounds. A third victim, an unidentified female of similar age, was discovered deceased on the porch of a house in the vicinity. The clustered nature of these incidents led police to investigate potential links between the killings, though the chaotic nature of the weekend's violence complicated the inquiry.
Despite the tragic loss of life and the proximity of the crimes, the investigation faced significant challenges.
