In the winter of 1978, a dark chapter unfolded in the life of 26-year-old Mary Beth Grismore, a white female known to her friends and family as 'Pixie.' She was in the midst of a new beginning, having recently remarried and planning a move from her home in Marshall, Indiana, back to her native Iowa to be with her new husband.
