In the early morning hours of a late summer day in St. Louis, Missouri, the life of 16-year-old DeMontae Young was tragically cut short. On August 24, 2015, in the Patch neighborhood of the city, Young was fatally wounded in a violent encounter. The shooting occurred in the 7600 block of South Broadway, where the teenager sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
