Jocelyn Peters, a 30-year-old third-grade teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri, was tragically murdered on March 24, 2016. Peters was found dead in her Central West End apartment, having been shot in the head. At the time of her death, she was 27 weeks pregnant with a child fathered by Cornelius Green, the principal of Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts Middle School.
