Connie Karr, a 51-year-old city councilwoman from Kirkwood, Missouri, tragically lost her life on February 7, 2008, during a shooting at a city council meeting. Karr, who was serving her second term on the Kirkwood City Council and was a candidate for mayor, was among the victims of a violent attack carried out by Charles Lee "Cookie" Thornton.
