Do you know who murdered 51 year old Jeffrey L. Williams in 1998?
In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 15, 1998, Jeffery Lynn Williams, a 51-year-old male, was found deceased in his home on North Washington Street in Kokomo, Indiana. His son discovered him lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor of his trailer. An autopsy later confirmed that Williams had been the victim of a homicide, having suffered a gunshot wound.
Also present in the home at the time of the incident was Williams's roommate, who was also shot. He survived the attack but was unable to provide investigators with any leads as to the identity of the perpetrator or the events that transpired. The case was investigated by the Howard County Sheriff's Department, but the investigation was hampered by a lack of evidence.
Several months after the shooting, a revolver was discovered in a small pool of water and mud near a shed that had been moved. The weapon contained two spent shells, believed to be from the bullets that killed Williams and injured his roommate. However, due to rust and corrosion, authorities were unable to lift any fingerprints from the gun.
Jeffery Lynn Williams was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a custodian at Delphi Delco Electronics for 29 years and was a 1965 graduate of Kokomo High School. Despite the passage of time, his murder remains unsolved, and no arrests have ever been made in connection with the case. The community and his family continue to seek answers and justice for his untimely death.
