On the night of June 17, 2017, violence erupted in the Vanderlou neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of 22-year-old Demarco Mars. Around 10:00 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Labadie Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered Mars suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
