On July 16, 2017, the quiet of an early Sunday morning in East Columbia, Missouri, was shattered by gunfire in what authorities later described as a targeted ambush. Jamar Lamont Hicks, a 26-year-old male, was riding in a vehicle with two friends near Trimble Road when unknown assailants opened fire on them.
