On the night of July 30, 2017, law enforcement officials in Greene County, Missouri, were summoned to a residence within the gated community of Highland Springs. Around 9:55 p.m., emergency dispatchers received a call from a female reporting a disturbance inside a home located on the 3600 block of East Kingswood Drive. Shortly thereafter, additional calls came in from neighbors who reported the sound of gunfire echoing through the quiet subdivision.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they entered the property to discover two individuals deceased from visible gunshot wounds.
The victims were identified as 27-year-old Tiffany Sue Fleming and 66-year-old Robert O'Block. Investigators determined that the two had been involved in a relationship and were residing together at the time of the incident. Following an examination of the scene and subsequent autopsies, the Greene County Sheriff announced that the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. The investigation concluded that O'Block had fatally shot Fleming before turning the weapon on himself. No other suspects were sought in connection with the violence, and the case was effectively closed as an isolated domestic tragedy.
Robert O'Block was a known figure in the area, having founded the Center for National Threat Assessment and the American College of Forensic Examiners International. He had also previously served as a reserve officer for the Pleasant Hope Police Department, a position he held until his termination in March of that same year. While authorities noted that deputies had responded to the residence for domestic disturbances and alarm calls in 2014, they clarified that those prior incidents had not involved Fleming. Tiffany Fleming was remembered by her family, including her mother and sister, as a beloved daughter and sibling whose life was cut short by the sudden violence.
