In the late hours of a Sunday evening in August 2017, a routine traffic stop in Clinton, Missouri, turned into a fatal encounter for a dedicated police officer. Gary Michael, a 37-year-old male officer with the Clinton Police Department, initiated a stop on a 2008 Dodge Nitro for a registration violation.
