In the late summer of 2017, the life of 27-year-old Anthony Minor Jr. was cut short in a fatal shooting in St. Joseph, Missouri. The incident, which occurred on August 10, 2017, was the result of an argument at the home of another man. Authorities were called to the scene where they found Minor had died from his injuries. The investigation led to the arrest of Raydel Cespedes, a
24-year-old from St. Joseph. Initially, Cespedes was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Minor's death. However, as the investigation progressed, the charges were amended, and in October 2017, Cespedes was charged with the more serious offenses of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. He remained in custody on a $50,000 bond while awaiting trial.
