In the summer of 2023, the life of 15-year-old Carter Paul Smith was tragically cut short in Saint Joseph, Missouri. On the evening of June 15th, the young man, a student at Benton High School, was fatally shot. His body was later discovered near the intersection of 28th and Commercial streets. Carter was born on February 28, 2008, in St. Joseph and was remembered by family for his infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room.
