In the autumn of 2017, the life of Jeffrey Donald McPherson, a 44-year-old male, came to a sudden end in his Joplin, Missouri home. Having recently relocated to Joplin just two months prior from his lifelong home of Columbus, Kansas, his death on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, was a shock to those who knew him. Born on December 21, 1972, he was a graduate of Columbus High School and was known for his Christian faith.
McPherson was a father to a son and a daughter and was described as a man
who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Mini-Rod racing. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. His passing left behind his parents, two brothers, a sister, and his two children.
Following an investigation into the circumstances of his death, authorities with the Joplin Police Department determined that there was no foul play involved. The cause of death for Jeffrey McPherson was officially ruled a suicide. Consequently, there were no arrests made in connection with his passing, and there have been no suspects identified or investigated, as the case was not deemed a homicide. His family held a visitation and a memorial graveside service the week following his death to honor his memory.
