In the late summer of 2018, a tragedy unfolded in a quiet home in Springfield, Missouri, cutting short the life of a young mother and leaving a family fractured. On the morning of August 25th, police were dispatched to a residence on South Fremont Avenue after receiving a call to check on the well-being of a person inside. What they discovered was a grim scene: the body of 32-year-old Syolanda Patterson, a female resident of the home. It was apparent she had died from a gunshot wound.
