Kate Elizabeth Moeckel Kasten, aged 39, tragically died on December 28, 2018, in Saint Charles, Missouri. On that night, police responded to a report of an active shooting at her residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered Kate, her 10-year-old son Jonathan Kasten, her 8-year-old daughter Zoe Kasten, and her 61-year-old mother Jane Moeckel, all of whom had been shot. Kate was transported to the hospital where she later died, while the other victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
