In early July 2020, a tragic discovery was made at an apartment complex in Saint Charles, Missouri, involving the deaths of two individuals. On the afternoon of Thursday, July 2, police officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Remington Boulevard after receiving a call from a concerned family member. Upon entering the apartment, authorities found the bodies of 21-year-old Shirley Hendrick and 32-year-old Darnell Randall.
Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigators immediately began processing the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the double shooting. Detectives confirmed that Hendrick and Randall were in a romantic relationship and both resided in the apartment where they were found. During the search of the premises, police recovered two 9mm handguns which were taken into evidence for forensic analysis. The presence of the weapons inside the residence was a key component of the initial inquiry.
Following the discovery, the Saint Charles Police Department released information regarding the potential for public danger. Officials stated that the shooting was not a random act and that they did not believe a suspect was on the loose.
