On the night of November 1, 2020, officers from the St. Charles Police Department responded to a residence on the 3100 block of Ridgeview Drive in Saint Charles, Missouri, following a report of a medical emergency. Upon arrival shortly before midnight, first responders discovered a 34-year-old female named Crystal Hanshew suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene inside the home she shared with her husband.
