In the waning days of 2018, the life of a young St. Louis teenager with dreams of a music career was tragically cut short. Maur’Trell Wilkes, a 16-year-old male, died on Sunday, December 30, 2018, from a gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on the 10400 block of Baron Drive in St. Louis County. Wilkes, who was known by the aspiring rap name “Young Trell,” was remembered by his mother as a teen she supported in his musical ambitions, contingent on him keeping his grades up. ...
