On the early morning of July 21, 2019, tragedy struck in the 6200 block of East 17th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. Just before 3:00 a.m., local law enforcement officers were dispatched to the residential area following frantic reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene in East Kansas City, first responders discovered the body of a victim who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
