On September 7, 2019, violence erupted in the 4100 block of North Newstead Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of Sparkle Maxie. The 26-year-old female had been driving in the area when she became involved in a vehicular altercation with another driver. According to witness accounts and court documents, the situation escalated after Maxie began following a man who had allegedly insulted her. When the vehicles came to a stop near Lee Avenue, the encounter turned deadly.
