On the evening of October 30, 2019, tragedy struck in the Academy/Sherman Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Shanieka Maria Byrd, a 35-year-old female, was present in the parking lot of an AutoZone store located at 1215 North Kingshighway. Shortly after 9:00 p.m., police officers responded to a call regarding a shooting at that location. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Byrd and a 43-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
