In the early hours of April 24, 2020, the life of 28-year-old Katina Simmons was tragically cut short in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood of St. Louis. A Black/African American woman from the nearby community of Hazelwood, she was discovered on a porch on Coleman Street around 1:20 a.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
