On the afternoon of November 6, 2019, police officers in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to the 5300 block of Olive Street following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 44-year-old Michael K. Jones lying in the street. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses at the scene described a confrontation between the victim and a man seated in a truck.
