In the spring of 2020, a tragedy unfolded in the Gate neighborhood of St. Louis, forever altering the lives of one family. On the afternoon of Sunday, April 19th, the lives of 55-year-old Pauline Mondaine-White and 58-year-old Orlando White came to a violent end. Both were residents of the 2600 block of Rutger Avenue.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Rutger Street and Jefferson Avenue.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered both Pauline Mondaine-White and Orlando White with gunshot wounds. Despite any efforts to render aid, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Subsequent investigation by homicide detectives led them to classify the event as a domestic murder-suicide. Authorities concluded that Orlando White was the perpetrator in the death of Pauline Mondaine-White before taking his own life. As a result of this conclusion, the investigation was closed, with no outstanding suspects or further arrests to be made.
