In the coastal city of Brunswick, Georgia, the life of 27-year-old Rashad Maurice Green was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. On a Friday night in late March 2025, violence erupted at The Retreat Apartments on Altama Avenue, resulting in a quadruple shooting that left the community shaken. When officers from the Glynn County Police Department arrived at the scene following reports of multiple gunshots, they were met with a grim discovery.
Inside one of the apartments, they found Rashad Green, who had succumbed to his gunshot wounds.
The chaos of the evening extended beyond the initial discovery. Three other men were also wounded in the same incident. Two of the injured men managed to transport themselves to a nearby hospital, while a third was taken for medical attention. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement officials confirmed that the investigation was active and ongoing, with the suspect or suspects still at large. As of late March 2025, no arrests had been made in connection with the fatal shooting.
Rashad Maurice Green, born in Brunswick on June 10, 1997, was a father of two sons, Rashad Green, Jr., and Kahizer Green. He was remembered for his passion for cooking, a skill he utilized as a cook at the Southern Soul Restaurant on St. Simons Island. Beyond the kitchen, he was also a carpenter, having learned the trade from his uncle. His family, including his parents Katrina and Ronald Green, recalled his love for music, dance, and spending time with his children and friends. He was an active member of his community through his involvement with My Brother's Keeper. His funeral service was held at the Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church, where he had been a youth choir member.
