In the early hours of February 17, 2025, the life of 19-year-old Eric Stanley, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Brunswick, Georgia. He and his 17-year-old brother, Xavier Buggs, were found with gunshot wounds in the 3200 block of Brailsford Avenue following a physical altercation that involved several women and escalated into gunfire. Both teenagers were rushed to a local hospital, but their injuries proved to be fatal, and they were pronounced dead.
Stanley was remembered as a loving and energetic young man who had received accolades in both sports and music.
The investigation into the double homicide led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kevin Bernard Pinkney Jr. He was charged with two counts of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation continued, and authorities subsequently arrested three women in connection with the fatal shooting.
Precious Bradley, 28, Keyuana Billings, 28, and Kyara Pierce, 24, were also taken into custody. Each of the women was charged with two counts of being a party to the crime of murder. Bradley faced an additional charge of simple battery. Law enforcement has indicated that the investigation into the deaths of Eric Stanley and Xavier Buggs remains ongoing, and that further arrests could be made.
