Patrick Russell Kappus, a 40-year-old white male, was tragically murdered on May 1, 1989, in Brunswick, Georgia. The incident also claimed the life of his 15-year-old daughter, Emma Kappus. Patrick and Emma were shot with a semi-automatic pistol in a shed behind their home early in the morning. The perpetrator, Roddy Elroy Childress, who was Patrick's brother-in-law, was convicted of their murders.
