On March 6, 1915, Brunswick, Georgia, was the site of a tragic mass shooting that claimed the lives of several individuals, including 20-year-old Gunnar Tolnas. The assailant, 50-year-old Monroe Phillips, a local sawmill owner and lumber businessman, initiated the attack due to grievances over a failed lumber deal.
