On May 18, 2020, the community of Kansas City, Missouri, was shaken by a violent triple shooting that claimed the life of twenty-five-year-old Tevin Grimmett. A Black male resident of the city, Grimmett was at the Willow Creek Apartment Complex in the 9900 block of Walnut Street when the incident unfolded in the early morning hours.
