In the early morning hours of June 6, 2020, Montel Ridley, a 27-year-old male, was fatally shot in the historic 18th and Vine jazz district of Kansas City, Missouri. The incident unfolded in a parking lot shortly before 2:30 a.m. following an argument that escalated into a chaotic scene of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered a crime scene that stretched for more than a block, with dozens of bullet holes riddling nearby buildings, indicating multiple shooters were involved.
