Sylvester Simms, a 29-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on July 18, 2020. The incident occurred near the intersection of Independence Avenue and Cleveland Avenue, where Simms was found shot on the front porch of an apartment. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. This shooting marked Kansas City's 103rd homicide of the year.
