On July 26, 2020, 30-year-old male Terrance 'TJ' Monte' Foster Jr. became the victim of a violent crime that would ultimately claim his life months later. While at a gas station in the North City area of St. Louis, Missouri, Foster was targeted during a robbery. During the encounter, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. First responders transported him to a local hospital where he began a long and arduous battle for recovery, remaining hospitalized for nearly four months as medical staff
attempted to treat his severe injuries.
Despite his prolonged fight for survival, Foster succumbed to his wounds on Sunday, November 22, 2020. He was a resident of St. Louis who had built a life centered around his family and his career. Known affectionately as 'TJ' or 'Bone' to his friends and loved ones, he was a 2008 graduate of Kirkwood High School and had attended South County Technical High. Foster had cultivated a reputation in the area as a photographer under the moniker 'STL PHOTO MAN,' capturing events and portraits throughout the community. In May 2020, shortly before the shooting, he had obtained his CDL and begun working as a truck driver for Hogan Transportation. He left behind a young son, Jared, with whom he shared a close bond.
At the time of his death, investigators from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department stated that they had no suspects in custody regarding the shooting. The case was classified as a homicide following his passing, adding to the city's violent crime statistics for that year. Reports indicated that the incident originated as a robbery, but no individuals were immediately charged, and details regarding the identity of the shooter remained elusive in the months following the attack.
