Montez Blake, a 58-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead on August 13, 2020. His body was discovered in a field near Independence Avenue and the Paseo at approximately 1:15 a.m. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. This incident marked the 123rd homicide in Kansas City for the year 2020, a year that saw a significant increase in violent crimes compared to previous years.
