On September 5, 2020, officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were summoned to a scene in the North City area of St. Louis, Missouri, following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered the lifeless body of 61-year-old James Jones, a male resident of the city. He had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
