In April 2008, a disturbing series of medical emergencies unfolded at the DaVita Healthcare Dialysis Clinic in Lufkin, Texas. Among the victims was 64-year-old African American female Cora Louise Bryant, who suffered cardiac arrest during dialysis treatment on April 22, 2008. Although she initially survived the incident, she died three months later on July 15, 2008. Her death was one of several that occurred under suspicious circumstances at the clinic during that month.
