On July 18, 2021, Brooke Hooker, a 32-year-old woman from Lufkin, Texas, tragically died after being shot in her bedroom. The incident occurred early in the morning around 5:10 a.m., when officers were called to the 100 block of Deer Trace Circle after receiving a report of a female gunshot victim. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found Hooker inside her bedroom, and she was subsequently transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
